An ad from a super PAC supporting Texas Senator Ted Cruz is trying to portray his Floridian rival as a fantasy football obsessed wannabe. 

The ad shows dramatic scenes of ISIS, the world refugee crisis and Russia's Vladimir Putin getting cozy with Iranian leader Hassan Rouhani before asking "What would Marco Rubio's leadership look like?" With that the ad cuts to a clip of Rubio saying over the phone, "Yeah, I know I have a debate, but I’ve got to get this fantasy football thing right. Okay?"

Omitted from the ad is the fact that the Rubio clip was taken from a short comedy bit Rubio did ahead of the CNBC debate. 

According to The Washington Post, the group Keep the Promise, an umbrellas group for Cruz supporting PACs, will spend close to $1 million to air the ad in Iowa and other early voting states. Some of the money will be spent on radio and digital versions of the ad rather than just television.

Iowa Republican voters will cast their ballots in caucuses less than a month from now. At this point Cruz is leading in Iowa with Donald Trump a close second in many polls, Rubio is a distant third.
