On Thursday night's show, Stephen Colbert announced a "huge" name interview he landed to help close out the Colbert Report before moving on to bigger and better things as Dave Letterman’s replacement.
In a special episode next week he’s calling “Mr. Colbert Goes to Washington D.C. Ya Later, Legislator; Partisan is Such Sweet Sorrow: A Colbert Victory Lap,” the conservative-mocking host will sit down with President Obama in an already sold-out George Washington University auditorium.
“Nation, I cannot overstate how huge this is,” Colbert said Thursday. “The size of the hugeness? Large. I am so honored to be sitting down with the man who sat down with Bill O’Reilly.”
The “victory lap” interview will take place next Monday, Dec. 8. Tickets were available only to students, who quickly sold the show out. This will be the third time Obama has appeared on the show.
