Fake News CNN tracked down an elderly woman through Facebook and a reporter showed up at her house and proceeded to accuse her of being a Russian operative for promoting a pro-Trump event that was organized by “Kremlin-linked trolls.”
Florine Gruen Goldfarb “unwittingly promoted a Russian-coordinated event,” as CNN noted, but the reporter grilled her like she did it with full knowledge. Goldfarb tried to explain that she had no idea the Russians had anything to do with the “Being Patriotic” event that she promoted. She also told the CNN reporter that she knew everyone in attendance and they were all her friends and fellow Trump supporters. End of story, but not for CNN.
“But what part of it in this is a coverup?” the reporter pressed. “Are you saying that’s not true, or what?”
“Um, the Russians? I don’t care if they were involved or not,” Goldfarb bit back. “That is the least important thing.”
“But they were involved with you,” the reporter responded. “Did you guys know that?”
Goldfarb informed the reporter that she never thought she was sharing an event organized by Russians and suggested CNN get their facts straight before reporting.
Then things got confusing when the reporter said, “But you guys were involved with ‘Being Patriotic,’ right?”
Goldfarb thought he meant she and her friends were patriotic, she added, “Very patriotic!” This made it even more clear that she just wanted to gather with other Trump supporters and Make America Great Again. Yet, CNN shamed her, right there on her own lawn, that she shared the posts.
“Those were legitimate,” Goldfarb said.
“Those were Russians,” the reporter charged.
Now, Goldfarb was getting really upset. She said, “I don’t go with the Russians. Come on! Give me a break.”
But CNN hammered away making the woman feel like some traitorous double agent, “Well, apparently you did… Maybe you didn’t know it, but you did.”
That was the first time the reporter explained to her what actually happened but not without piling on the shame.
“Those people who were with me were all Trump supporters. Very, very much so,” Goldfarb tried to explain.
“And all apparently following the direction of groups that were associated with Russians who were actually infiltrated,” the relentless reporter said.
“BS, BS, and please report that I don’t believe that. That’s bullsh*t,” she said. “I know all the people that were with me, okay? They were at my meetings. They were all Trump supporters.”
Shame on CNN for treating her this way:
Has CNN so quickly forgotten that it, too, was an “unwitting” participant in enthusiastically covering a Russian-organized anti-Trump rally? Here’s Newsbusters on that:
A check of their November 12 coverage showed both CNN and MSNBC gave enthusiastic coverage to the Russian-organized anti-Trump rally that day, with live reports every hour. Correspondents celebrated the idea that it was “a love rally,” and repeated the marchers’ anti-Trump mantras, such as: “We reject the President-elect.”
Of course, none of the networks were aware of who was allegedly behind the march, but CNN and MSNBC reveled in the inflammatory messages of the march… CNN, correspondent Brynn Gingras said the rally had been organized by “a 20-year-old student from St. John’s University here in New York....We’ve seen him several times shaking hands with police officers....It is the most organized protest that I’ve seen here in New York City.”
Maybe somebody could give Goldfarb a microphone and have her stand out on Jeff Zucker’s lawn, or the reporter's who berated her, and see how they like it. Or…
Yep, that's right. Michael Moore participated in a Russian-organized anti-Trump event. Why didn't CNN beat down his door and demand answers? Isn't the network all about "facts first" now?
