Chris Matthews: John Bolton as Sec State Would Make Us 'Sad'

We're dealing with children here.

As we frequently note, liberals are all about feelings, not facts, and since Donald Trump's election victory the left's "feelings" have certainly been running high as they express them through everything from college cry-ins to riots. Now MSNBC's Chris Matthews is doubling down with the left-wing hysteria with a segment dubbed Trump Watch.

During a doomsday episode Monday (segment featured above), Matthews lamented the so-called dour mood Trump's victory has cast around the nation and he fretted over whom the President-elect might appointment to various cabinet positions.

"And tonight, I worry about the talk that John Bolton may be Trump's choice for Secretary of State," Matthews cried.

“Picking Bolton would have an immediate effect ... It would vastly increase the number of people who are sad at what happened last Tuesday and the number of people who are downright scared. Sacred."

Newsbusters notes that Matthews admitted that his own son is among the anti-Trump protesters and he feels it's his role, as MSNBC host, to "keep the boat stable":

This job of bringing the news to people wanting to know what happened today, what it might mean, how I'm weighing it personally, how I'm using my knowledge of American history and put it in perspective, and try to keep the boat stable as we head down the river of, yes, more history. Because that's what the country is making right now. Believe it or not, like it or not, American history. This is us going through this.

Well, some moments have made me calm, like what Donald Trump said when the Electoral College showed him the victor, like his willingness to listen when the president spoke about the arithmetic realities of the Affordable Care Act. Well, this is what the president-elect must do. He must listen and he must learn. And tonight, I worry about the talk that John Bolton may be Trump's choice for secretary of state.

Picking Bolton would have an immediate effect. It would vastly increase the number of people who are sad at what happened last Tuesday and the number of people who are downright scared. Sacred.

Sad. Scared. These are the Left's primary emotions. It's like constantly trying to sooth an irrational child.
