Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, arguably the greatest defender of religious liberty, has officially announced his plan to run for President in 2016.

In a video posted to his announcement page, Jindal shares his decision to run with his wife Supriya along with their three children, but gets side-lined when his daughter Selia agrees, but only if she gets a puppy in return.

Unlike Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio, Jindal has a tremendous challenge ahead of him in generating popularity among the GOP. According to the latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll, only 36% of primary voters said they could support Jindal, 28% said they could not. The difference will be made if Jindal can rally support from the extra 34% of undecideds. Jeb Bush currently holds the lead among GOP hopefuls, followed closely by Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker.

In the battle to protect religious freedom, Jindal has come out in full force last month when he issued an executive order protecting the rights of individual Christians to deny service to same-sex weddings based on religious, which culminated into tech conglomerate IBM canceling a ribbon-cutting for their new office set to open in Baton Rouge this year.
