Bill Maher: Colin Kaepernick ‘An Idiot’ for Calling Hillary 'Evil'

"Stick to what you know - kneeling and interceptions."

HBO host Bill Maher says that although he supports 49er backup quarterback Colin Kaepernick’s protest of racial injustice, the NFL player is an "idiot," according to The Hill.

We couldn't agree more, but probably for different reasons. Maher didn't say what prompted this harsh tweet, but the "false equivalency" Maher referred to was likely in response to Kaepernick's comment on Tuesday that it was "embarrassing" to watch Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump in the first presidential debate Monday night, and that both candidates were "evil."

“Both are proven liars, and it seems like they’re trying to debate who’s less racist,” Kaepernick complained, according to USA Today. "And at this point... you have to pick the lesser of two evils. But in the end, it’s still evil.”

Unless you've just awakened from a month-long coma, you are no doubt aware that Kaepernick sparked ongoing controversy a few weeks ago by sitting out “The Star-Spangled Banner" before a preseason game in order to protest what he calls this country's "oppression of people of color," specifically the shooting of black male suspects by police. Kaepernick has since continued disrespecting the national anthem, inspiring other sports stars to follow suit.

Bill Maher previously didn't seem to object to Kaepernick's offensive characterization of this country, but once the athlete criticized one of the left's own -- Hillary -- he crossed a line.

As for Trump, his opinion of Kaepernick’s gesture is that it is “a terrible thing. You know, maybe he should find a country that works better for him. Let him try, it’s not gonna happen."
