After a Long Year, Rosie O’Donnell has Finally Accepted Trump’s Presidency

Okay, everybody can relax, now. Rosie is okay.

We know what you’re thinking: how is Rosie O’Donnell doing these days with Donald Trump in the White House? Well, you can finally relax, because she is doing much better.

O’Donnell spoke with W magazine recently and wouldn’t you know it; President Trump came up in the conversation. And predictably, it was all doom and gloom:

“I seriously worry whether I personally will be able to live through [his presidency] and whether the nation will be able to live through it and survive.”

The comedienne/actress/talk show host actually blamed the media for failing to keep Trump out of the White House. First of all, it’s not the press’s job to elect a president, though they try their best anyway. Second of all, the mainstream media thought Hillary Clinton was a shoe-in. Boy, were they wrong and O’Donnell didn’t like it one bit:

“[W]hen he started to run, they all went in their little turtle shells and acted like they had no idea that this was the essence of this man, when had they only turned on Wikipedia, they could have found out everything that we now know is fact. And we wouldn’t have him as president if they had done their jobs.”

At least we know where Rosie turns for “facts.”

But even though Trump has really stressed her out, O’Donnell’s emotional roller coaster has slowed down… kind of:

“My therapist said a whole thing on how I ‘can’t have these negative, intrusive thoughts,’ and that I ‘have to believe in the goodness of the world.’

“It has taken me a full year to integrate the reality of him being a president in a way that I don’t come across as either so full of rage that no one can hear my words, or so sad that I can’t articulate the level of pain.”

O’Donnell tried to promote her upcoming role in a new Showtime television drama, but was too distracted blaming Trump for nearly screwing that up for her, too:

“We happened to shoot it on the day that Trump was elected so it was kind of a wonky day and a wonky week; and you know, we didn’t get picked up for like six months.”

The interviewer didn't get around to asking O'Donnell how those plans for leaving the country are going.
