The Adventures of Alec Baldwin and Bill de Blasio's Priorities

He loves him. He loves him not.

Alec Baldwin was taken away in handcuffs today following an altercation with police in New York City. Baldwin was arrested after failing to produce identification when stopped by police for riding is bicycle the wrong way down a one way street. In addition to failing to produce ID, he was detained for disorderly conduct after exchanging words with the officers.

Following his arrest, Baldwin immediately took to Twitter to complain vociferously. First he tweeted the name of the arresting officer and her badge number, saying she "arrested me and handcuffed me for going the wrong way on Fifth Ave." He followed that with: "Meanwhile, photographers outside my home ONCE AGAIN terrified my daughter and nearly hit her with a camera. The police did nothing." Baldwin has had several notorious run-ins with paparazzi in the past, and in February stated that he was done with public life as a result.

Finally, apparently fully fed up with the city, the fired MSNBC host sent the following:

One wonders where the actor's New York enmity was during the mayoral election, when he was pretty certain that Bill de Blasio was the cure for all that ailed the city. In a Huffington post column titled "The Right Candidate for New York Mayor", Baldwin said that New York needed a candidate who would change course form "Mayor Bloomberg's 12-year attempt at reshaping New York into an American Singapore," a nation known for its brutal and unforgiving police force. He then endorsed de Blasio, calling him "the one candidate who understands what New York's current priorities must be."

It seems priorities change, don't they?
