Woke ESPN Does Fantasy Football ‘Slave Auction’ Segment

Doesn’t this qualify for shutting down ESPN once and for all?

ESPN has apologized for a fantasy football segment some said seemed too much like a slave auction.

An auctioneer called before a crowd of all white people who bid on black NFL players for their fantasy leagues. That didn’t go over well with viewers, what little they have left, and many eyebrows were raised across the Internet.

The higher-ups at ESPN tried to quickly squelch the backlash by releasing the following statement with a reminder that white players were also on the auction block:

Auction drafts are a common part of fantasy football, and ESPN’s segments replicated an auction draft with a diverse slate of top professional football players. Without that context, we understand the optics could be portrayed as offensive, and we apologize.

The only reaction to this should be, “What’s the big deal?” However, ESPN has jumped on the progressive bandwagon and has vowed to be a leftist political voice instead of a sports-only channel, and as such, they should’ve known better. You can’t be a “woke” network and miss how this was going to play out. Because at this point in America, say or do just one thing that even remotely appears racist, intentionally or not, and you can be sure to be banned, canned, or drug out in the middle of the street and flogged. Even Civil War relics can’t escape the ire of the Left who want them removed from public sight.

So, with ESPN auctioning off black people, can we expect the Left to demand the sports network go off the air? Don’t count on it.
