White Actor Quits ‘Hellboy’ Reboot Because Character Originally Asian

The politically correct pressure proved too much for British actor Ed Skrein (Deadpool) who after just one week of landing the role as Major Ben Daimio in the upcoming Hellboy reboot, stepped down because the character he was cast for is of Asian origin.

Because the role didn’t go to an Asian actor, critics said it was another example of Hollywood “whitewashing.” Skrein, 34, received a ton of blowback, not unlike white actress Tilda Swinton did when she was cast as the "Oriental" Ancient One in 2015’s Doctor Strange. Even the fact that a woman was placed into a man’s role wasn’t enough diversity for the identity politics crowd. But unlike Swinton who didn’t back down, Skrein scribbled a virtue-signaling break-up letter, announcing his desire to “make moral decisions in difficult times:”
