In honor of "Back to the Future Day," the White House has invited scientists and innovators to look into the future 30 years to see what their cutting-edge developments will look like in the year 2045. It's an all-day event and the public is invited to participate  through hashtag (#BackToTheFutureDay) by "asking questions, sharing and nerding out together," as it states in the official release.

The topics covered will include, of course, the future of time travel, a demo of a real-life "invisibility cloak," studies of the human brain, and the future of autonomous vehicles. 

And what White House release would be complete without a jab at Congress? As if predicting its own immediate future, as least as long as this president occupies the residence, the Obama administration confirmed that it will not advance past shaming Congress for resisting progressive ideas. And using the occasion to their advantage, a line from Back to Future was borrowed to do just that:

We can't wait to start the conversation.

Marty McFly himself, Michael J. Fox, was invited to write up a statement for the White House to commemorate the event, challenging Americans to "imagine the world [they] want to live in thirty years from now." Fox, who suffers from Parkinson's Disease, is hoping for a future that can treat, cure, and perhaps prevent brain diseases. He added that if we all get hoverboards, "Well, that's a bonus." Let's hope he's right on both accounts.

But what does 2045 look like? In Back to the Future II, it was imagined that a fictional 2015 included hydrating pizza ovens, self-lacing shoes, floating transportation, Jaws 19; none of which are available (yet). And then there were the actual scientists who predicted 30 years ago that a lot of us would be under water today and living scenes straight out of Mad Max because of global warming. And yet, they were both wrong. But today is no different. Those same scientists have the very same predictions, just shifted forward another 30 years. And President Obama adds urgency by saying we must act on climate right now or there won't be another 30 years to even worry about. However, the real threat to the future are those very progressive ideas forced upon the country through executive actions despite what "We the people" have to say about it.

So, we here at TruthRevolt will take Mr. Fox's challenge and imagine the year 2045 as the year America traveled back to a time when the Constitution was a revered document and freedom from tyranny was every American's passion.
