On Thursday evening, a group of Donald Trump supporters met to form "Students for Trump" on the campus of Portland State University. Things went awry when they advertised their first meeting in chalk around the campus. Because of this "chalkening," as it has become known, triggered social justice warriors became enraged, confronted with ideas and politics different from their own. This resulted in over 100 SJWs descending on the pro-Trump meeting and quickly overtaking and shutting the meeting down.
The good thing is, cameras were rolling and we now get to see just how deep the lunacy on campus runs. From the video's description on YouTube:
Fights nearly broke out, doxing and vandalism threats were issued to Trump supporters, Latino students were shoving the Trump students out of the way, another student encourages others to join anti capitalist groups, they shut down and silenced the pro Donald Trump group, mocking their talking points, whined about TRUMP chalk on the sidewalk, and it ends with the socialist students gloating about shutting it down and promising to come back if Students For Trump holds another meeting.
For a bunch of sensitive snowflakes, they sure use plenty of colorful language and angrily shout it so loud that no one can get a word in edgewise. One Trump supporter said at the end of the video, "People poured in and blatantly said, 'We are taking this over now.' They wouldn't let us speak; these mainly Black Lives Matter supporters and No Borders supporters -- anti-white. A lot of them blatantly hate white people, okay? And they took it over. Notice we never do that to them."
We do notice and its hypocritical on an American campus where the exchange of free ideas should be championed. But this sort of thing has become more of the norm today. Students don't know that their First Amendment rights don't trump another's First Amendment right.
Another recent example aired on Fox News's The O'Reilly Factor. Jesse Watters visited the snowflakes at Princeton and used certain "trigger words" to get their reactions. Hearing the word "ghetto" caused one black student to storm off, but most hung in there. Watters does a good job showing them how ridiculous it can become if common words and phrases are labeled "hate speech." In contrast to the frustrating Trump video above, this one is much more lighthearted and should bring a few laughs. You'll need the comic relief:
