The TV world is apparently not yet ready for James Carville's "plainspoken justice" and "Cajun common sense." Politico revealed Friday that the left-wing political pundit has filmed a pilot for a Judge Judy-style courtroom show, "Carville's Court," that according to Carville is "not a go right now."

“I’m bringing that same no nonsense common sense to every day Americans, people from all over America who come to New Orleans, my home turf,” Carville announces in the opening credits. “This court room is unlike anything you’ve ever seen on TV, and so am I. So get ready for some plain spoken justice and a whole lotta Cajun common sense.”

In a pilot episode, Judge Carville rules that a man owed $3,800 to a woman for failing to adequately decal her car in Betty-Boop paraphernalia. In another case, Carville denies a woman's request for $1,000 from injuries sustained while she and her future sister-in-law were drunk on a rafting trip.

Politico's On Media blog first learned of the pilot while it was reviewing hacked Sony emails released by Wikileaks Thursday.After Sony execs met with Carville last summer, they filmed pilots in October.

According to the emails, Sony loved Carville, a senior executive VP Holly Jacobs saying he was a natural, and making the comment that Carville seems to feel that a TV show is "his calling":

James was so good and natural. He loved the experience and feels this is his calling. You'd think getting a man elected to be President might be his high point, but it seems that hosting a court show has trumped that -- we all had a lot of fun together and will have a good pilot to share.

Unfortunately for Carville, the show was shelved over financial concerns after Queen Latifah's daytime show was canceled in November.

“We shot a pilot for something we thought we might want to try, there's nothing more complicated to it,” Carville told Politico. “It was decided not to bring it to TV.”
