Over the weekend at a Wendy Davis rally, a Texas lawmaker, Dawnna Dukes, said of Texas Republican Gubernatorial Candidate, Greg Abbott, that he is “this guy who just kind of rolls around.”

As many saw this as a reference to Abbott’s handicap as a paraplegic in a wheelchair from an accident, the outrage quickly grew.

Now, Dukes is defending her remark, which was clearly caught on Camera, and claiming she not only said something else, but that it was made up to gain sympathy for the Abbott Campaign.

While Dukes claims the contrary to the comments, they can be clearly heard in the video.

And Wendy Davis has been silent. She has not come out against the comments made by Dukes which in understandable considering Davis’ recent TV ad where she attacked Abbott in a very controversial “wheel chair” ad.

Not that Abbott is really worried at this point. With elections less than one week away, Abbott holds a very commanding lead over Davis by a Real Clear Politics average of +14.2 points.
