It's been a rough first eight days on the job for CNN's newest political analyst Jay Carney.

The former Obama White House spokesman has only been providing his perspective since Wednesday January 10th but he's already had to deal with a fiery on-air debate with Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) as well has his own colleague, Anderson Cooper, fact-checking his assertions and finding them to be less that accurate.

Now another colleague has challenged his veracity to his face.

Jake Tapper, host of The Lead, had Carney on to talk about the ongoing mixed messages from the White House and Pentagon over the use of troops in the President's war that's not a war against ISIS. When the topic turned to the participation of Muslim nations in the Middle East joining a coalition to fight ISIS, Tapper presented a question to Carney that was loaded with a damining implication:

“What is the difficulty in getting Arab allies to kick in with military assistance? Jay, you don’t work for the White House anymore, you can be frank. What is the problem?”

The obvious inference from the question is that Carney was less than frank when he acted as Spokesman for the Obama Administration. Tapper had frequent stand-offs with Carney when he served as White House Correspondent for ABC News. Tapper often challenged Carney over the White House's claims regarding the attacks in Benghazi.
