Hollywood director Steven Spielberg is blaming conservatives for all the "rage" he perceives sweeping across America.

Yet, he does make a prediction -- "a happy ending in November" -- which presumably excludes a Republican win.

Speaking to Sky News, Spielberg said:

"I think that America is a very rational country that is, right now, going through a little bit of what Paddy Chayefsky predicted years ago when he made the movie -- he wrote the screenplay for 'Network' -- and he had everybody go to the window and shout to the night, 'I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it anymore.'

And I think America is going through a paroxysm of rage based on a lot of build-up and distrust of our government; based on, basically, a Congress that's done nothing, that's been stuck -- in a conservative way -- stuck by the conservatives and not been able to really do anything to progress us forward. But I think that everything will turn out. I think there's going to be a happy ending in November!"

Sky News concluded that Spielberg was saying that Donald Trump is a "symptom of American 'rage.'"

Spielberg is just one of many outspoken liberals in Hollywood who never waste an opportunity to mix politics with entertainment. It's something even his beloved Chayefsky once called out during the 1978 Oscars:
