CNN’s Jake Tapper attempted to call out Trump campaign spokesperson Katrina Pierson for complaining that anyone who doesn't want ISIS in our communities is labeled Islamophobic by the left. Tapper defended the accusation by claiming Pierson was grossly exaggerating. Pierson is correct, and Tapper is wrong.

In the Mediaite video above, Tapper was in the process of YET AGAIN attempting to link candidate Donald Trump to white supremacist David Duke, who claims to support The Donald. Tapper asked Pierson why the Trump campaign doesn't do more to distance itself from Duke and other neo-Nazi elements. “Does it make you at all uncomfortable to hear praise from people like that?” Tapper asked, referring to comments from the racist Daily Stormer website favoring Trump.

“No, because you can’t control what other people do,” Pierson said. “What makes me uncomfortable is when the father of a terrorist openly supports a presidential candidate,” she said, referring to the father of Orlando terrorist massacre who attended a Hillary rally.

She went on to complain about the left's relentless name-calling of Americans who have legitimate concerns about border security. “People who want to control the border are labeled racists and bigots. People who want to stop ISIS from coming into their communities are called Islamophobic,” she argued.

“Katrina… no one has called people who don’t want ISIS to move into their neighborhood Islamophobic," Tapper interrupted. "That has never happened in the history of the world. People call people who hate Muslims Islamophobic,” Tapper continued in the crosstalk. “But people do not say that about people who don’t want ISIS to move in.”

Tapper is laughably wrong about that. Pierson's point, perhaps imperfectly stated, is that Americans who dare to suggest that Islam just might be a security threat and maybe we should, you know, take some appropriate security measures, are shouted down by the left as Islamophobes, racists, intolerant bigots, and on and on. That is an absolute, undeniable fact, Tapper. ANYONE who speaks out is condemned for "hating Muslims," no matter how many times critics attempt to make a distinction between Islam the ideology and Muslims as individuals. The left absolutely NEVER concedes that about critics of Islam.

Tapper's unfair dismissal of Pierson's comment is yet another example.
