The former governor of California has proven himself a team player after all, and has called on people to "stop whining" and support President-elect Donald Trump.
In an interview on Today Thursday morning, Schwarzenegger reversed his previous promise to not vote for Trump in the general election and now asks people to join in unity for the good of the country.
"What changed is that now he is elected and now it is very important that we support the president and that we come together and we stop whining, and it becomes one nation," Schwarzenegger told host Matt Lauer.
Schwarzenegger referenced a letter from former President H.W. Bush when Bill Clinton came into office, asking America to give him a chance.
"When someone is elected, then you get 100 percent behind them and you help them shape the future," he said. "It’s very hard for people to do that, but that’s the effort we all have to make."
Schwarzenegger's only advice to Trump was that he "keep working with the other Party."
"If you take people from both parties then you get 100 percent of the brainpower," he said. "And there’s so much brainpower in the United States. This is by far the smartest country in the world, and the best country in the world. Now the trick of it is to go and make it even better."
