We knew it was bound to happen, but we didn't expect it this soon. Only two weeks into their re-invented cast of news and entertainment analysts, the women of The View are openly feuding in front of their live, studio audience.

The Daily Mail reports on a confrontation between Whoopi Goldberg and Rosie O'Donnell that ended with Goldberg shouting obscenities at O'Donnell in front of the studio audience during a commercial break.

The argument began as the panel was engaged in a discussion about spanking. Producers wanted to break for commercial and told Goldberg in the wireless earpiece the host wears to stay in contact with the control booth. O'Donnell, who refuses to wear the earpiece, was in the middle of delivering her brilliant thoughts when Goldberg interrupted her and took the mandated break. That's when the sparks began to fly:

As soon as they went to commercial break, Rosie took the handheld microphone that they use to engage the audience,' explains the tipster.

'Instead of talking to the crowd, Rosie spoke directly to Whoopi in the mic that she "hurt my feelings," and that she was "very upset by it" and "didn't appreciate" what Whoopi had done.'

Standing to the side without a microphone, Whoopi responded by saying: 'This isn't the time for this, Rosie.'

Instead of moving on, O'Donnell continued to gripe openly in front of the audience in the microphone about what she perceived as an on-air snub.

'Well I just don't appreciate you saying that you were going to do something and not doing it. It makes me upset and I just don't want to have to go through this,' O'Donnell continued.

Goldberg, looking annoyed, shot back: 'I said this was not the time Rosie.'

Not phased by the Oscar winner's petition to leave matters alone until after the show, the 52-year-old comedienne continued to vent about Whoopi's actions.

The View moderator then fired back to Rosie: 'F*** it, I told you to leave it alone and you just don't want to listen. If you want to go there Rosie, I will dammit. I'm really sick of your s***!'

A hush fell over the studio.

Two days into the new incarnation of the all-woman panel show O'Donnell clashed with token Republican Nicole Wallace over Wallace's comments about Barack Obama not liking people. In August, two weeks before the show premiered, reports surfaced of conflict between Rosie and Whoopi. At the time, OK! reported, "Rosie thinks that Whoopi acts like she’s superior to the rest of the cast. And Whoopi thinks that Rosie is crass, rude and has returned to The View thinking it’s all about her.”

Before the show began, O'Donnell predicted, "I think it's going to be must-see TV. My goal is to come in peace. And the contrast between what the show will be and what it was is going to be glaring."

If this is Rosie's idea of "peace," we can't wait for the oncoming war.
