Blue Lives Matter reports that a Chicago rapper who goes by the alias King Yella was shot in a drive-by shooting on Wednesday while -- wait for it -- filming a Black Lives Matter video.

Earlier this week, the heavily-tatted rapper and gang member, perhaps best-known for his song "Hot N*gga Remix" (yeah, we haven't heard of it either), had put out a call for people to show up wearing red and blue to help him film the video. Having a group of men stand around in gang colors may not have been the smartest idea, since just as the video shoot got underway inside an underpass, a vehicle sped by and shots rang out, sending the rapper and his crew full of attitude scrambling for cover.

Ironically, King Yella had recently launched his No More campaign, a stop the violence movement to bring peace among the gangs in his hometown, now nicknamed "Chi-raq" for its war-level degree of violence.

“I’m out here doing a Black Lives Matter video shoot and got shot,” he wrote on Instagram. “Tryna stop the violence and niggas still wanna be on that.”

He suffered only a couple of flesh wounds treated with Band-Aids, pictures of which he posted to his Instagram account to boost his newly-acquired street cred.
