Pope Francis has disappointed his left-wing fans yet again. Following recent statements where the Roman Pontiff condemned all modern attacks on marriage by boldly exclaiming that "the family is being bastardized" with regard to divorce and same-sex unions, the Vatican will be sponsoring a multi-faith conference "dedicated to traditional marriage" on Nov. 17-19, reports Catholic News Service.

Titled "Complementarity of Man and Woman," the conference will feature over 30 speakers from various Christian denominations around the world as well as religious leaders from Judaism, Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism, Taoism, Sikhism, and Jainism and will "examine and propose anew the beauty of the relationship between the man and the woman, in order to support and reinvigorate marriage and family life for the flourishing of human society."

Pope Francis will address the conference and preside over its first morning session, but he won't be the only major religious figure in attendance. Pastor Rick Warren of Saddleback Church; Lord Jonathan Sacks, former chief rabbi of Great Britain; and Russell D. Moore, president of the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention, will all be in attendance. The heads of all four curia offices are also scheduled to address the assembly.

Some have speculated the conference has come in response to the recent controversy surrounding the synod mid-term report that softened the Catholic Church's language toward homosexual activity and same-sex unions, but Pope Francis approved the conference as back in 2013 after being approached by Cardinal Gerald Muller.
