Piers Morgan Vigorously Defends Koran Against ‘Islamophobe’ Tommy Robinson

And obviously loves to hear himself talk.

A fiery debate raged on Good Morning Britain between host Piers Morgan and accused “Islamophobe” Tommy Robinson in the wake of the Finsbury Park attack where a van was used to run over Muslims in apparent retaliation.

Debate is a bit of a misnomer, as it was Morgan who dominated the conversation, never allowing Robinson to explain the dangers of Islam. With a Koran in hand, Robinson was repeatedly pummeled by Morgan and his female co-host for “disrespecting” a religious faith by using their holy book to prove it encourages violence against non-Muslims.

“Would you do that with the Bible?” Morgan asked. “Show some damn respect for people’s religious beliefs… Just put it down.”

Morgan told Robinson he sounded like “a bigoted lunatic” and constantly accused him of spreading Islamophobia because of his views which are highly critical of Islamic terrorism and Britain’s lax policies on Muslim immigration.

“Basically,” Morgan cried, “You are an Islamophobe who hates Islam. You basically think that all Muslims are to blame… and what you’re doing now is deliberately inflammatory, it is deliberately poisonous, and you are having the complete opposite effect to the one you say that you have. You are stirring up hatred. You are abusing people’s religion. You’re abusing their faith and you’re being a complete disgrace.”

Robinson asked Morgan what he knew about Islam or its prophet Muhammad. Morgan, of course, didn’t bother answering. He was too busy yelling at Robinson for holding the Koran “in that disgraceful manner” — that is, it was just there in his hands --  you know, not bent, or on fire or anything.

“This book is the reason we’re in such a mess,” Robinson was finally able to say. “That’s a reality.”

“No!” Morgan shot back. “We’re in this mess because people take Islam, they are terrorists, and they abuse the nature of Islam, and the wording of Islam, and they perpetrate evil and it is completely wrong.”

Morgan was “outraged” that Robinson was “abusing their holy book” to incite hatred.

Holy book, huh? Robinson read them a passage:

“Slay the non-Muslims wherever you find them, and take them captive and besiege them and prepare for them in ambush.”

“Who’s slaying who?” Robinson asked. “I’m not inciting hatred. This calls for my death.”

The video above was edited by ITV, leaving out one section in which Morgan attacked Robinson personally about his criminal past and former leadership in the English Defense League. So, Robinson was forced to remind Morgan that he was involved in one of the biggest media scandals in Britain. You can see that section in an unedited, though poor quality, clip below:

In a strange twist, it was Morgan who was accused this week of stirring up hate with the language he was using after the recent terror attack in London. The Muslim head of the Ramadhan Foundation urged Morgan to ease back on the “inflammatory language” he was using in criticizing the attacks and Morgan was quite offended by the accusation and defended himself… by shouting down the Muslim and not letting him speak. That seems to be his pattern. But Morgan doesn’t like it when the shoe is on the other foot.
