Bill O'Reilly went after New York City Mayor Bill deBlasio last night on his Fox News program calling for the embattled mayor to resign. 

O'Reilly characterized the situation in New York as a "mini-crisis" with police officers engaged in a work slowdown due to their outrage over the anti-police protests and the recent murder of two officers in Brooklyn. 

O'Reilly accused the mayor of sympathizing with the protesters and aligning himself with the point of view that there is a racial bias among the NYPD that results in injustices against minorities in New York.  "That point of view that the left is putting out there – saying that police are instruments of oppression, rather than a protective force – is causing outrage on the part of the cops themselves,” O’Reilly said.

Fox Nation then explains how O'Reilly laid out some recent decisions from deBlasio that are tantamount to "spitting in the face" of the police: 

Less than a day after Officers Liu and Ramos were murdered, 18-year-old Devon Coley allegedly posted a photo to Facebook which showed a man shooting into an NYPD car. The Brooklyn DA asked for $250,000 bail because Coley has a long arrest record and is an alleged gang member, but Judge Laura Johnson ruled that there should be no bail, O’Reilly explained.

Johnson had to be re-appointed to the bench by New Year’s Eve, and most people felt she had no chance after the “outrageous decision,” O’Reilly said.

“But Mayor De Blasio did re-appoint her, symbolically spitting in the face of his own police department. And de Blasio wonders why these men and women are turning their backs on him, why they despise him? […] No sane judge does that, and no responsible mayor condones it.”
