Perhaps House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi has truly lost her marbles because, in a second moment of forgetfulness this year, she called out “President Bush” during a public appearance instead of the current president's name.
On Sunday’s This Week on ABC, Pelosi said to Jonathan Karl, “It means winning for the American people, that either we win, or whoever wins understands the priorities of the American people, and they are not what President Bush — excuse me.”
She seemed stumped for a moment, and then clutched her chest and offered up a wishful prayer:
“I am so sorry, President Bush. I never thought I'd pray for the day that you were president again.”
Karl was taken aback that Pelosi would rather have Bush than Trump, seeing as the Democrats treated him horribly, too. But she tried to play off any embarrassment by saying that Democrats actually got a lot accomplished with President Bush:
“We opposed him on the war in Iraq vociferously, we opposed him on his privatization of social security, but we worked with him on many other issues — biggest energy bill in the history of our country.”
This is the latest in a string of strange communiqués coming from the House minority leader, as well as other top-ranking Democrats:
The moment when she mentioned Bush instead of Trump and didn't even realize it back in February:
