Obama Says Anti-Semitism on the Rise

"We cannot deny it."

President Obama spoke at the Israeli Embassy on Wednesday, promising solidarity with Israel despite a chilled relationship with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

“We must confront the reality that, around the world, anti-Semitism is on the rise. We cannot deny it,” said Obama.

The president made his remarks on International Holocaust Remembrance Day and the 71st anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz. “I’ve made sure that the United States is leading the global fight against anti-Semitism.”

Obama was introduced by Hollywood's Steven Spielberg. Netanyahu gave a video address about the relationship between the U.S./Israel bond and the horror of the Holocaust.

Four individuals were awarded the Righteous of the Nations Award.

“We hear their stories and are forced to ask ourselves, under the same circumstances how would we react? How would we answer God’s question, 'Where are you'?” Obama said.

“An attack on any faith is an attack on all our faiths,” Obama said.
