Obama Commutes Sentences of 46 Criminals With Records Like Katie Steinle's Killer

Writes them all letters of encouragement, silence for the Steinle family.

President Obama made it a point to write personal letters to 46 non-violent drug offenders to commute their sentences because he believed their time didn't fit their crime. These crimes involved possession and distribution of illegal drugs; charges not unlike Kathryn Steinle's killer who has been arrested, jailed, and released on multiple occasions for simple possession.

Statistics show that over 40% of released prisoners get re-arrested within a year. A government survey that targeted 8,145 illegal immigrants released from behind bars revealed that over 1,800 of them were also re-arrested within the same time period.

In the two weeks since Steinle was murdered by illegal immigrant and "non-violent drug offender" Juan Francisco-Lopez Sanchez, Obama has not uttered a word to the girl's family. This is in stark contrast to the president's outreach and statements to the families of Michael Brown, Eric Garner, and Freddie Gray.
