NBC's 'Kids Talk Trump' is Pure Emotional Manipulation

"I'm afraid that you're going to hurt some of us blacks."

Using children as political props is nothing new for the left,. Remember all the Obama-worshipping kids' choirs singing the Messiah's praises?

In that vein, the leftist network NBC News has produced a couple of short videos featuring schoolkids expressing their unease about President Trump's immigration policies. Why? Why, because as we all know, kids are so wise and politically informed. Just kidding -- it's because videos starring kids are so emotionally manipulative, and the left is all about feelings, not rational argument.

"Dear Mr. President: Kids Talk Trump" and "Dear Mr. President: Children Share Their Messages For Donald Trump" take the form of what Huffington Post describes as "heartfelt letters" from 4th and 5th graders in the Houston, Texas, area to President Trump, sharing their concerns.

The first video opens with a girl saying that when Trump says something that makes her "feel uncomfortable" or that she disagrees with, he makes her feel small, "because I know I can't change it." That's right, you can't -- because you're not old enough to vote. And the reason we have an age limit on voting is partly because kids aren't politically informed enough or mature enough to make political choices, and they often simply vote the way their parents want them to -- or indoctrinate them to -- anyway.

A black boy then tells Trump "I don't like your definition of American because I don't seem to fit within it." He doesn't explain what Trump's definition of an American is or why he doesn't fit it. We're just left with the suggestion that he doesn't fit because he's black and Trump is a white supremacist.

A mixed race kid says, ludicrously, "I'm afraid that you're going to hurt some of us blacks."

"You are here attempting to whitewash America," another non-white boy says. What does that even mean? He doesn't explain, but the obvious and ridiculous suggestion is that Trump is trying to turn America white somehow.

The next video begins with a little girl telling Trump he's making "crazy and dumb decisions like banning Muslims from seven different countries." You know what's even crazier and dumber, kid? An immigration system that is ineffective at keeping terrorists out of our country. This is why you're not allowed to vote.

Other kids plead with Trump not to "build the wall" and separate families. One girl cries at the thought of being separated from her parents. Gee, nothing manipulative there.

Fox News reports that ABC News also produced a video just prior to the inauguration in which children addressed Trump, but "its handling of having children address the new president was decidedly more even-handed." Critics are calling this new NBC video, which is entirely anti-Trump, “propaganda,” and rightfully so.

One black boy in the first video urges Trump to sit quietly in a room "and think about what you're going to do before you do it." Maybe the people who made this video should have sat quietly in a room and thought this through first as well, because anyone can see that it's biased, fear-mongering, race-baiting silliness.
