The hosts of MSNBC's "Morning Joe" came to Donald Trump's defense Wednesday concerning his exchange with "emotional" Univision anchor Jorge Ramos Tuesday that led to Trump putting the "out of order" reporter in his place and booting him from the presser.

Co-host Joe Scarborough argued that Trump was right to shut down Ramos for his out of line "lecture." Ramos (whose daughter works for Hillary Clinton's campaign, by the way) "wasn't asking a question," maintained Scarborough.

"I wouldn't have been that patient with him," said Scarborough. "I would have said, 'You got a question?'" 

"He doesn't ask him a question from the very beginning ... he's lecturing him," Scarborough said arguing that Ramos was breaking reporters' protocol. "Barack Obama, rightly would not allowed somebody to stand up and lecture him that long. Ask a question." 

Brzezinski agreed, noting that the moment was "just like" the Fox debate and ripped Ramos for "jump[ing] in at the top" and "delivering a little bit of a lecture."  

"[C]learly [Ramos] had a position that he was intent on pushing," said Brzezinski. "I thought it was brilliantly played by Trump."

Ramos has repeatedly made clear by his actions that he sees himself as not just a journalist but an activist journalist who's major cause is promoting the interests of Hispanics, particularly immigrants, whether legal or illegal.

After the incident with Ramos Tuesday, the National Association of Hispanic Journalists condemned Trump and challenged him to engage Hispanic journalists in the upcoming Excellence in Journalism (#EIJ15) conference. Ramos' "lecture" has served as another example of what the New York Times describes the decision by many Hispanic media outlets to "no longer pretend to cover [Trump] objectively."
