More of the Same: Celebs Sing 'I Will Survive' (Trump)

"An anthem we need now more than ever."

Celebrities from Amy Adams to Chris Pine would like everyone to know they "will survive" the coming administration.

In a video produced by W magazine, celebrities gathered around for their very own rendition of Gloria Gaynor's hit song "I Will Survive" from 1978.

Nothing new under the sun here, with the video repeating the tired gimmick of each celeb finishing the predecessor's sentence. Can someone please say "done to death" already?

Though no one specifically mentions Trump by name in the video, magazine explicitly made the song's intentions known, saying  "I Will Survive" symbolizes the spirit of empowerment and persistence in the pop cultural lexicon, a message needed now more then ever, according to them.

"It's resonated as an anthem of female empowerment and of gay pride, and it's been designated 'culturally, historically, or artistically significant' by the Library of Congress," said the magazine. "And while the song has long been interpreted through a socially conscious lens, it's the kind of anthem we need now more than ever with the inauguration bearing down on us.

"With an impending Donald Trump presidency, I will survive."

This might actually be a slight improvement for the left, who have routinely decried Trump's election as the second rise of Hitler or signs of the apocalypse. They might just be growing up. Cross your fingers.
