Melania Hits Back at Kathy Griffin

"Disturbing"

First Lady Melania Trump will not just go quietly into the shadows while comedienne hacks like Kathy Griffin pose with mocked-up severed heads of her husband. She has now denounced Griffin's antics as "disturbing" and even questioned her mental health.

"As a mother, a wife, and a human being, that photo is very disturbing," read a statement from Melania released on Wednesday. "When you consider some of the atrocities happening in the world today, a photo opportunity like this is simply wrong and makes you wonder about the mental health of the person who did it."

By atrocities, Melania surely meant ISIS beheading Americans, videos of which appear exactly the same as the gruesome photo of Kathy Griffin. Even Chelsea Clinton denounced the picture, along with Griffin's longtime pal Anderson Cooper and even the normally unhinged Keith Olbermann.

After a tsunami of denunciations, Griffin swiftly apologized in a short video posted on social media.

"The image is too disturbing," she said. "I understand how it offends people. It wasn’t funny. I get it…I sincerely apologize."

President Donald Trump also said of the picture that "Kathy Griffin should be ashamed of herself. My children, especially my 11 year old son, Barron, are having a hard time with this. Sick!"

As of this afternoon, CNN announced that Kathy Griffin has been fired from hosting her annual New Year's Eve special with Anderson Cooper.
