Fox News host Megyn Kelly opened her show Monday by alluding to the brewing controversy surrounding her and Donald Trump.
"I just got back from a weekend at the beach with my husband and three kids, did anything happen in the news while I was gone?" Kelly asked, smiling ear-to-ear.
The Fox News host and one of the moderators for last Thursday's highly successful debate then began talking about what had happened since the debate between her and GOP frontrunner Donald Trump.
"Mr Trump was upset with a question I asked him at the debate last week about his electability and specifically comments he has made in the past about women, a few words on that. Apparently Mr. Trump thought the question I asked was unfair and was attacking him," Kelly said. "I felt he was asked a fair but tough question. We agree to disagree."
The popular TV host then pointed out that Trump did several interviews over the weekend that attacked her personally.
"I've decided not to respond," Kelly said.
"Trump, who is the frontrunner, will not apologize, and I certainly will not apologize for doing good journalism," Kelly said. "So I will continue doing my job without fear or favor. And Mr. Trump, I expect, will continue with what has been a successful campaign thus far. This is a tough business and it's time now to move forward."
