After her public feud with Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, Fox News' Megyn Kelly took the number one spot for cable news Monday in both the key demo and total viewers.

The Kelly File grabbed 568,000 viewers in the 25-54 demo Monday and 2.915 million viewers overall, beating out the powerhouse The O’Reilly Factor.

Driving the ratings was the anticipation building around her response to her showdown with Trump, but Kelly ultimately defused it. Standing her ground, Kelly said she and Trump "agree to disagree" about whether or not her questions were fair and it was time to "move forward."

KELLY: Trump, who is the frontrunner, will not apologize, and I certainly will not apologize for doing good journalism. So I will continue doing my job without fear or favor. And Mr. Trump, I expect, will continue with what has been a successful campaign thus far. This is a tough business and it's time now to move forward.
