Matt Damon Praises ‘Remarkable’ Obama, Says the Two ‘Talk’

“I don't ever question that it's coming from the right place with Obama."

Matt Damon’s warm and fuzzies for President Obama have returned. Yes, while the Hollywood actor once voiced his disapproval over the NSA and unauthorized drone strikes under the current administration, all of that is now water under the bridge. He and Obama are tight now. After all, the two “talk.”

In his recent interview with the The Hollywood Reporter, Damon heaped effusive praise on the “remarkable” and deep-thinking Obama, claiming the two share a kind-of special, “easy” relationship where, you know, they can just chat and keep it real.

“We talked about it [drone strikes, NSA, etc.],” Damon said of a conversation he shared with Obama during a visit to the White House. “…and look, even when I was giving him shit, he's somebody who thinks so deeply about everything he does.”

The Elysium actor (remember that piece of leftist propaganda?) explained that even if he disagrees at times, he doesn’t even deign to question the president’s motives because, well, they are incontrovertible:

“I don't ever question that it's coming from the right place with him [Obama]. He's a remarkable human being and shockingly easy to be around. He's incredibly approachable and doesn't beat you up with his station, though he could.”

Only in the alternate universe of left-wing Hollywood would anyone speak of “kicking-it with the POTUS” this way -- without shred of humor or self-awareness.

The actor also shared his thoughts on GOP presidential hopefuls Ben Carson and Donald Trump, the former of whom he actually knows in person. Regarding Trump, Damon said anyone who advocates “putting up a wall” just can’t be taken seriously. “It’s seems so un-American,” he told THR.

Clearly, Damon didn’t get the memo that illegal aliens, including drug smugglers and Hezbollah terrorists, are able to cross our borders unimpeded.

“We have people running for the highest elected office talking about putting a wall up that would keep my wife and her family out of the country, you know?"

Hardly, considering his wife is from Argentina and is a legally naturalized American.

On the topic of Carson, Damon was more magnanimous. While he condemned the presidential contender’s remarks on a hypothetical Muslim-president, saying they were, “horrible and offensive" the actor also called Carson one of the loveliest people he’s met. Interestingly, Carson made a cameo in the comedy Stuck on You in which the real-life doctor separates Damon from his “conjoined twin,” played by Greg Kinnear.

"I met Ben Carson 22 years ago," he recalls. "He gave the convocation speech for Columbia Med School, where my girlfriend at the time was going, and he gave a beautiful speech about who he was and where he came from. And then, because Carson had done the first successful separation of conjoined twins, when I did the movie Stuck on You, there's a scene where Greg Kinnear and I are separated. Ben Carson plays the surgeon. We shot with him for the entire day. He could not have been lovelier. [But] I can't believe some of the things that he says."

In terms of his candidate for 2016? While he “loves” Native American Sen. Elizabeth Warren, she is not running, so for now he has got his money on Hillary.
