Limbaugh Mocks NOW's Faux Outrage At NFL

“If NOW is really serious about violence against women, they've gotta focus on Bill Clinton...”

On his talk show Wednesday, Rush Limbaugh responded to the National Organization of Women’s call for the resignation of Roger Goodell, accusing them of faux outrage at the NFL and asking where was there anger during Bill Clinton’s string of sexual harassment allegations.

Responding to NOW president Terry O’Neil’s statement calling for NFL commissioner Roger Goodell to resign and for the NFL to appoint an investigator to study abuse and harassment of women by league members, Limbaugh argued that what was really happening was an orchestrated attack on the NFL. Feminist groups like NOW (whom he calls "NAG," the National association of Gals), Limbaugh argued, were simply seizing on another opportunity to tear down the league via faux outrage that never seems to materialize when a liberal is involved. To illustrate his point, Limbaugh asked why NOW has remained silent on Bill Clinton's run of sexist scandals:

Limbaugh: If NOW is really serious about violence against women, they've gotta focus on Bill Clinton. Where were the NAGs when Juanita Broaddrick said she was raped by Bill Clinton? Where were the NAGs when Kathleen Willey was stalked and hit on by Bill Clinton? Where were the NAGs when Gennifer Flowers and all the “bimbos” were assaulted? Where were they when Paula Jones was called trailer trash by James Carville who said, “This is what you get when you drag a dollar bill through a trailer park”?

In a statement Wednesday, NOW’s president Terry O’Neil said the NFL doesn’t have a Ray Rice problem, “it has a violence against women problem”:

"The NFL has lost its way. It doesn't have a Ray Rice problem; it has a violence against women problem. ... The only workable solution is for Roger Goodell to resign and for his successor to appoint an independent investigator with full authority to gather factual data about domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault and stalking within the NFL community and to recommend real and lasting reforms."
