Leftist Media Pushing White-On-White Crime Narrative in Waco

#WacoThugs -- "Where are their fathers?"

The leftist media is busy injecting the narrative of white-on-white crime into the biker gang shooting that left nine people dead in Waco, Texas Sunday. The common thread of complaint centers on how blacks are portrayed in news coverage versus whites when it comes to violent crime. Also among the complaints are how the police reacted at the scene, most reports saying they were calm or "minimally attentive," juxtaposed with the how police responded during the Ferguson and Baltimore riots.

Here is a small example of the headlines coming from the top media on the left:

Many of these outlets pointed to Twitter outrage to bolster their claims. Taking the lead of CNN's Sally Kohn who wondered on Twitter why the media kept saying "biker gang" instead of "thug," hashtag activists created #WacoThugs. They began asking, "What will the White community do about this white-on-white gang activity? Where are their fathers?!" Others hoped that leather vests would soon replace hoodies as the preferred clothing for thugs. Some with tongue firmly planted in cheek blamed outlaw country and the TV series Sons of Anarchy as bad influences on bikers, breeding violence and criminality in their community.

HuffPo argues that white-on-white crime is a "huge concern" that is "out of control," citing FBI homicide data showing that 83 percent of white victims were murdered by other whites.

Mic used photos from the scene in the aftermath of Waco beside pictures of the Baltimore riots, where as police in Waco strolled "casually" through the parking lot of the restaurant, police were in full riot gear in the black neighborhoods. The complaint was, "Where's the tear gas and rubber bullets on these THUGS?"

NPR posted a Twitter message that said, "More died today in Waco than Ferguson & Baltimore combined & the media still won't refer to bikers as thugs. Think about that. #WacoThugs."

The mugshots of many of the bikers that were arrested are currently being released to the media. However, the names of some of the bikers will undoubtedly conflict with the Left's punch at white people -- Mario Gonzalez, Salvador Campos, or Juan Garcia.

"But it does not matter," said National Review's Ian Tuttle. "The Left is simply obsessed with race... It is the sign of a small mind that it must squeeze every event into a prefabricated narrative. Are there any smaller minds in America at present than those that see everything in black and white?"
