Ultra-liberal site Mic.com picked a Twitter post they believe exposes the racist hypocrisy of police violence. However, it really exposes their own when it comes to calling for an end to violent takedowns.

The tweet, originating from London, includes a photo: On one side is Charleston church shooter Dylann Roof in custody, on the other, Eric Garner in a NYPD chokehold:

For Mic, Natasha Noman makes the following leap of logic:

Eric Garner, pictured on the right, was stopped by police for selling loose cigarettes in Staten Island, New York, on July 17, 2014. Even though Garner was not violent, nor harming anyone before police stopped him, the situation quickly escalated to four officers tackling him to the ground, mounting him and one placing him in an illegal chokehold. He ultimately died, after informing officers repeatedly that he could not breathe. The police officer who placed him in the chokehold was ultimately not indicted at all, not even with manslaughter.

However, the footage of the police handling Dylann Roof, the man who allegedly shot and killed nine black people in a cold-blooded hate crime, shows several officers handling him respectfully and in accordance with the law, even protecting him from the media and providing him with a bulletproof vest lest he be targeted. 

So, the point seems to be that some police violence is okay, as long as the suspect deserves it. What is ignored is that Roof surrendered to police without contest, so no force was necessary -- compared to a 6'3" man weighing 350 pounds who was resisting, taking multiple officers to control him. But it reads that Noman would have loved to see a few blows to Roof's head, no doubt.

Noman ends with a call for equal treatment for all criminals; whether that means stopping all police brutality, or just for a few, depending on the level of that day's righteous indignation.
