Jurors in Freddie Gray Trial Deadlocked

After nine hours of deliberations, judge says keep going.

Fox News is reporting that jurors in the Freddie Gray manslaughter trial against a Baltimore police officer are deadlocked and that the judge has ordered them to continue deliberations.

That order comes after jurors spent nine hours over two days to determine if Officer William Porter is guilty or not of the death of Gray, who died in April while being transported in the back of a police van after an arrest.

Porter's charges include manslaughter, assault, misconduct, and reckless endangerment. Gray's neck was broken after being unsecured in the back of the van with his wrists and ankles shackled. Prosecutors said Porter should've fastened Gray into a seatbelt.

According to the report, activists have threatened to "issue a call to action" if they believe justice has failed. Calls for "decency and order" have been issued no matter the verdict.
