The October jobs numbers prove the leftist media’s apocalyptic predictions of the shutdown's economic impact to be exactly what we knew they were all along: politically motivated alarmism.
From Reuters:
U.S. job growth unexpectedly accelerated in October as employers shrugged off a government shutdown, suggesting the budget standoff had a more limited impact on the economy than initially feared.
“Initially feared” by whom? The truth is the only ones fearing the economic effects of the government shutdown were those few still falling for the false narratives of the fear-mongering media.
As for the employment numbers, they fall right in line with the Obamanomics tepid growth pattern, as if the shutdown never happened.
Employers added 204,000 new jobs to their payrolls last month, the Labor Department said on Friday. The unemployment rate, however rose to 7.3 percent from September's nearly five-year low of 7.2 percent.
So, no, of course the government shutdown had no discernible economic effect. But, yes, the economy still sucks.
