Newsbusters reports that Participant Media, which produced Al Gore’s An Inconvenient Truth and is dedicated to promoting “social change,” is producing a film about the life of 84-year-old Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, titled On the Basis of Sex. The film reportedly will focus on the obstacles in Ginsburg’s fight for equal rights (it's unclear how much of her pro-abortion extremism will be depicted).
Newsbusters details her abortion support:
Ginsberg voted against upholding restrictions on partial-birth abortion in Gonzales v. Carhart and deemed a partial-birth abortion ban unconstitutional in Stenberg V. Carhart. A long-time proponent of unrestricted access to abortion, Ginsburg has claimed holding abortion clinics to the same professional and sanitary standards as other healthcare providers represents an “undue burden” on women (never mind that unregulated abortion clinics have proved unhealthy for women and -- obviously -- the unborn).
Rogue One star Felicity Jones (pictured above opposite "the Notorious RBG") will play Ginsburg, which is like casting a young Brad Pitt to play George Soros.
As Newsbusters notes, Participant Media pumps out lefty propaganda films, including 99%: The Occupy Wall Street Collaborative Film, An Inconvenient Truth, An Inconvenient Sequel, Jimmy Carter: Man from Plains, and Misconception. On the Basis of Sex will be directed by The West Wing's very Progressive Mimi Leder, so you can bet this biopic will be a hagiographical bore that is virtually guaranteed to lose money -- but that never stopped Hollywood from forging ahead with its leftist messaging.
How about a Clarence Thomas biopic that doesn't demonize the conservative Justice?
