On Thursday's The O'Reilly Factor, Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) quipped that impeaching President Obama would be a very bad idea because he has met Joe Biden. Bill O'Reilly didn't get the joke.
O'Reilly was asking if Rep. Gowdy, or anyone else in the GOP, was seriously considering impeachment of the president based on his predilection towards executive actions, especially in light of his next slated move of amnesty for illegals. Gowdy responded, "Have you met Joe Biden?"
That one slipped right past O'Reilly. Gowdy went on to explain that only "pundits and commentators" are throwing around impeachment. "First of all, impeachment is a punishment, it's not a remedy," he said.
Here is the rest of the conversation with O'Reilly finally clueing in to Gowdy's wit:
O'Reilly: So you see it as a bait you're not going to take?
Gowdy: I'm not going to take it because I've met Joe Biden. That's not the answer... to replace Barack Obama with Joe Biden.
O'Reilly: Explain the Joe Biden reference.
Gowdy: He would be the new president! I mean, so you get rid of one...
O'Reilly: Ah! He would be the new president.
