On CNN's "New Day" Wednesday, Rudy Giuliani praised Donald Trump for being a "refreshing" candidate who will ultimately help draw more Americans to the Republican debates.

"I think Donald has been refreshing," said the former mayor of New York. "The debate you're going to have next week is going to have three times the audience it would have had."

While Giuliani would not go so far as to endorse Trump, he did say that he could see him potentially winning the presidency. 

Despite being blasted from all sides for his controversial comments on immigrants, Sen. John McCain, and other off the cuff remarks, Trump has continued to stand his ground—and lead several key polls.
