Fox News' Geraldo Rivera made some eyebrow-raising comments about women and marriage on Monday's Outnumbered. Rivera was the "One Lucky Guy" on the panel show that focuses on news of the day as well as lifestyle issues with a panel of four women and one man.

During a discussion over a new report showing millennials are testing out marriage with two-year "beta marriages." Rivera opposed the idea because... well... let him explain:

"I think that essentially, although there’s an increase in two income marriages, generally speaking, the man is the bread winner more often than not — although now increasingly women do work — but I think that what a woman brings to a marriage more than anything else, to a relationship, is her youth. Her youth is a fragile and diminishing, uh, resource. So if a woman were to invest two years in one of these marriages and then to be rejected by the man, I think that she has given up a valuable asset that is unequal.”

When co-host Jedidiah Bila responded with incredulity, Rivera expanded on the idea. The man gets everything and the woman gets nothing,” he explained.

As one would imagine, liberal media outlets were quick to pounce. Huffington Post referred to the moment as a "weird rant" and "a frightening journey through (Rivera's) thoughts."

For the record, Rivera has been divorced 4 times and his current wife is 32 years younger than the 71-year-old journalist and radio host.
