Perhaps it's just a shrewd, capitalistic marketing ploy by the executives at Threes Brewing. If so, we might be able to forgive their latest product to hit the grocery store shelves: "Gender Neutral Beer."
Perhaps we're just not "woke" enough, but we were unaware that beer had a gender at all.
The Brooklyn-based brewery (read: hipster-interlopers) will market its new beer during NYC's Pride March, reports the Washington Times.
Brooklyn-based Threes Brewing plans on capitalizing on thirsty members of the LGBT community this month with the June 22 release of a new lager called “Gender Neutral.” The flavor will debut at a “Human Rights are Gender Neutral” party in celebration of the city’s Pride Week.
Pre-sale for the beer begins June 14.
NYC Pride will be held on June 22 and broadcast live for the first time via New York’s local ABC affiliate.
"As we grow and are starting to get some attention, we think it’s incumbent upon us to use whatever platform we have to make a difference about issues we care deeply about," the brewery's co-founder, Joshua Stylman, said during a Wednesday interview with Patch.
Well, either Stylman is a shrewd marketer, or sadly another misguided businessperson who thinks its "xir's" place to foist social justice issues on customers.
