Former Congressman Arrested In Zimbabwe

Porn and unpaid hotel bills

Melvin Reynolds, a former Illinois Democratic Congressman, has been arrested in Zimbabwe.

According to The Herald, a Zimbabwe run newspaper,

“Reynolds, who came into Zimbabwe last year purporting to be a middleman for foreign investors in the tourism industry, was yesterday arrested for violating immigration laws and possessing pornographic material. He had also accumulated bills worth US $24,500 at two hotels which he was yet to pay.”

A closely placed source to Reynolds said that the former congressman shot more than 100 videos and over 2,000 nude photos while he had over 10 women in his room.

This is not the first time Reynolds has been caught in a sex scandal.  He resigned from the U.S. Congress in 1995 after being convicted of having sex with a 16-year old campaign volunteer, 12 counts of sexual assault, obstruction of justice and solicitation of child pornography.  While in prison he was also convicted of 15 unrelated counts of bank fraud and lying to SEC investigators.
