Feminists Rip Emma Watson For Vanity Fair Breast Photo

"Will Hermione ever fit in?"

Feminists ejected Emma Watson from their coven circle this week when Vanity Fair revealed a scandalous photo of the former Harry Potter star partially bearing her breasts. Photo below:

The feminist theory is that Watson's partial nudity indicates that she caved in to male chauvinism, even though feminists lately have been waging a "Free the Nipple" campaign, strutting half-naked in Slut Walks, and marching in protests dressed up as vaginas. It also suggests that she is profiting from "western beauty standards" that keep her sisters from being rich and famous as well.

"To say that Watson’s shoot was in some way a 'feminist act' ignores that it is only certain body types that magazines such as Vanity Fair choose to show in a sexual light in the first place," writes Biba Kang at The Independent.

"This ends up making women who don’t fit western beauty standards (of being thin, fair, able-bodied and young) feel like there’s no space for them to sexually express themselves," she continued.

"In doing that shoot, then, Watson is profiting from standards which favour her, and contributing to a culture which keeps other women from attaining her levels of success."

Perhaps Kang should be demanding that Vanity Fair start featuring partially-clothed celebrities who are fat, disabled, old and ugly.
