Late Friday afternoon, Donald Trump was speaking with reporters and made a comment that may not sit well with those who have come to identify as his base. After saying the Citizens United decision was bad, he mentioned something that he thought was good: campaign finance reform.

"I love the idea of campaign finance reform," said Trump, echoing the sentiment if not words of his newly minted arch-nemesis John McCain. Over the years the conservative base has trashed McCain over and over for McCain-Feingold campaign finance reform. It is one item on a laundry list of grievances conservatives have with Senator McCain, and it should be noted, runs afoul of another little thing some people call "free speech."

With a certain portion of the conservative base, Trump's recent attack on Senator McCain was just deserts, and a long overdue finger in the eye of a despised establishment foe. But today Trump put himself firmly in McCain's camp on at least one issue.

As you can see in the above video (stay past the filmstrip animation), he also made a typically over-the-top statement about how he feels about women, and how they will benefit once he is in the White House, or wherever.
