Domestic Violence PSA to Air During Super Bowl

NO MORE

Anti-domestic violence organization NO MORE has released a new 60-second ad that will air during Super Bowl XLIX.

The ad features a reenactment of an actual 911 call in which a woman begins ordering a pizza from a confused emergency operator. The camera pans through the home where damage shows a violent event just took place. After a few moments of the operator trying to explain to the woman that she has dialed the wrong number, he suddenly realizes she is unable to say the real reason she is calling and is using the pizza order as a cover. Realizing the woman is still in danger, the operator affirms that an officer is on the way.

This latest ad from the organization is released on the heels of previous ads featuring NFL players and coaches that began airing at the beginning of last season in which the participants said, "no more."

The NFL has been central in many national conversations surrounding its perceived problem with players charged with domestic violence. USA Today documented 50 domestic assault cases inside the NFL since 2006. With roughly 1,700 players total across the league, 50 cases would amount to about 3% of its players.

But the NFL is taking this blight on its image seriously, as is evidenced in these public service announcements.
