Democrats wasted no time in turning John Boehner's resignation into something they could use for their partisan gain. Amanda Terkel, Senior Political Reporter at HuffPo noted via Twitter that Democrats in Congress were quick to send out fundraising appeals via email, trying to raise funds from the base.
Rep. Mark Pocan of Wisconsin was one of the first, sending out an email blast warning that Boehner's resignation would lead to an even more conservative speaker, "I won't let this happen - and I know you won't either," Pocan wrote before asking for donations of $7, $35 or $50.

Rep. Annie Kuster of New Hampshire also sent out an email blast claiming Boehner's ouster was a warning that the Tea Party is too extreme.
