Texas Senator and Republican Presidential hopeful Ted Cruz has released a parody video that pokes fun at him and his rivals. Cruz, who once read from the Dr. Seuss classic Green Eggs and Ham during a filibuster on the Senate floor, is seen reading so-called Christmas classics such as Auditing St. Nick by "Lois Lerner" - a nod at the corrupt IRS administrator.
Other "classic" books that Cruz reads with his family in tow include Rudolph the Underemployed Reindeer, How Obamacare Stole Christmas, Frisking Santa, The Grinch That Lost Her Emails and How The Senator Saved Christmas.
The tongue-in-cheek video is done in the style of the sort of "act now, operators are standing by" TV ads that sell everything from books to knives. Cruz yucks it up with his wife and two daughters sitting beside him on the couch. When his daughter hands him the book on the senator saving Christmas, Cruz responds by saying, "That's a good one."
So far the video, released over the weekend has received more than one million views.
