A Walt Disney spokesman confirmed that a statue of Bill Cosby will be removed from Walt Disney World's Hollywood Studios theme park in Orlando, Florida.

"According to the Orlando Sentinel, a Walt Disney World spokeswoman confirmed Tuesday evening that the statue would be removed from the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Hall of Fame Plaza after the park closed at 10 p.m."

Cosby has been making headlines over the last year, as women have come forward with various sexual assault allegations against the comedian.

On Monday, recently revealed court papers showed Cosby admitting that he obtained drugs to give to women so they would have sex with him.

News surfaced that Cosby testified in 2005 that he gave women drugs for the purpose of sex. In a Sept. 29, 2005, deposition, Cosby was asked: "When you got the Quaaludes, was it in your mind that you were going to use these Quaaludes for young women that you wanted to have sex with?"

The comedian replied, "Yes."

A petition started by Brittany Gavrilova, whose aunt is one of Cosby's alleged victims, had been circulating for months trying to get the statue removed from the park. "To not be able to walk through Disney without having that difficult encounter, it makes me sad," said Gavrilova.
